PHNOM PENH: The 10th Cambodian Book Fair will be held from December 14-17 on Koh Pich, where visitors will be able to get their literary fix amid thousands of books, art performances and fellow book lovers.

Secretary of State for the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts Long DySannara said that the book fair will promote all kinds of literature, old and new, domestic and international, to encourage people to develop their reading habits to increase knowledge and further study. The event also aims cultivate a love of reading in children and to encourage Cambodian poets and writers to continue to create new material.

Over the four days of the exhibition, people will not only be able to read and buy books, but also to meet and talk with famous authors, win prizes, and see performing arts and concerts.

President of the National Library of Cambodia, Khlot Vibolla, said that this year's Book Fair will be the largest yet, taking place in the park in Koh Pich. While previous years were held at the National Library with around 200 stalls, this year will host nearly 300 stalls and is expected to attract 100,000 to 200,000 participants.

Cambodian Association of Librarians President Hok Sithy said that Khmer literature is on the rise, with the most popular books from Khmer authors are on history, Khmer culture and books that inspire and share personal experiences, such as those related to financial success.
